As this will be the final edition I write for Titan Tails, I would like to include some of my favorite adoptable cats (sorry dogs) that I haven’t had a chance to talk about yet. Now, let’s learn about Persephone, Lilly and Lilac. All three of these cats are available at All 4 Animals Rescue, a nonprofit organization that is about a six-minute drive from campus.
Persephone

BOMBASTIC SIDE EYE. Persephone is a shy girl who will look weary the first time she meets you. She’s actually very sweet.
Persephone is a domestic shorthair with white and brown tabby as her fur coat. Her birthday is April 26, which means she just turned four. She is good with other cats. It is unknown how she is with dogs or kids. She is a very shy girl who used to hide when I took care of her room. Now she doesn’t.
She is one of my favorites as I have seen her journey of opening up to me. She will allow me to pet her, but she never asks me to do so. She will ask for wet food and she will do so but meowing her crunchy meow when she sees me at the door. She is particular when it comes to wet food; there are some brands she likes (Iams and Friskes), and others she doesn’t care for (Kirkland). She likes to play when you are using a wand toy. Her adoption fee is $75.
Lilly

OH, HELLO THERE. Lilly is another shy girl who is very scared when she first meets new people, but is a sweetheart when she opens up.
Lilly is a 2-year-old shorthair tabby. She is good with other cats, but we don’t know how she is with dogs or kids. She LOVES wet food; she is one of the kitties that waits by the door for the delicious feast.
She came to the rescue with three of her siblings, who are also ready to be adopted. Simon is her brother who is black and white and humongous compared to the sisters. Lilly’s sisters look a lot like her, but Rose’s fur coat is lighter and Mia’s tail curls at the end.
One of the reasons that Lilly is one of my favorites is the progress I have seen her make with trusting me. She used to run away from me, which she still does, but now she accepts pets from me! I actually have a video of the first time she allowed me to pet her and you can hear me crying in the background (it’s that serious). Lilly’s adoption fee is $75.
Lilac

COMFY KITTY. Lilac likes to lay down and catches some sun rays. If you listen closely, you can hear her soft purring.
Lilac is a 3-year-old domestic shorthair. Her fur coat is gray, and she loves to be brushed. She does well with other cats and dogs. It is unknown how she is with kids, but since she doesn’t like to be picked up, young kids might not be a good fit for her.
When her previous owner couldn’t keep her when he moved, she came to All 4 Animals with another cat, Juniper. They’re not bonded, so they don’t have to go together, but if you want two cats, they are known to work well together. I personally really like Lilac because she loves to be brushed and she will chirp at me when she notices the brush in my hand. Her adoption fee is $75.
