A new restaurant has landed in our area. I love going out to eat, so I had to check the new place out. It’s called Gogibop Asian Grill, and it’s by the Meijer on Grape Road.
The menu is a similar style to a sub place, like Subway, but with no subs. They have an item called Gogi bowls, which are like rice bowls. Poke bowls are similar, and you can either build your own or choose one from the menu. I chose the dragon bowl which had chicken, steak, mango, avocado, black beans, ramen egg, carrots, daikon, spicy mayo and terakiyi. For any of the bowls, you can choose a base; I chose half & half, with one half being white rice and the other half being purple rice.
I really enjoyed my bowl! It was super tasty and filling. I highly recommend it.
Along with my bowl, I got some boba tea. Now, before I review my tea, I need to let something be known; I’m not a tea person. I only brew peppermint tea at home, and I have only truly enjoyed one tea from Apothica Teas (Raspberry Mojito). The only green tea I have liked is Passion Papaya Green Tea from Panera, and I have ordered peach milk tea without the tea before. That being said, I always order bubble tea. It’s such a cute and fun drink, but it unfortunately always becomes a six-dollar regret for me.
I ordered the coconut milk tea and I loved it. I tasted no tea, only coconut. It was a match made in heaven. I’m a very slow drinker which resulted in me tasting the tea as hours went on, but I still enjoyed it. My boyfriend, who joined me, ordered the caramel milk tea. He never had any bubble tea before, and he liked it, but he thinks it’s not worth the hype. I disagree, but I’ll live.
He also ordered the shrimp tempura udon which he thought was good.

Something that needs to be discussed is the price. For both of us, it cost almost $50. The bowl was $13 and the udon was $14 with both of the bubble teas being $6.75. I did enjoy the food and I don’t mind paying the price for good quality, but I couldn’t come here every day. It wouldn’t be sustainable for me in the long run.
Overall, I like the place and will be going again. I will give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.
